Dr. Abdelhamid is Associate professor at Botany Department, National Research centre, Cairo, Egypt. Dr. Abdelhamid has been awarded his PhD from Gifu University, Japan and pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at University of Western Australia. He is expert on “Plant physiology under environmental stresses” and his main concern is increasing crop production, especially in arid areas. Currently, he is national coordinating two EU projects 1) "SIRRIMED” and 2) "Sustain Water Med ". In addition, he is coordinating collaboration project with Germany titled “Improvement of drought and salt tolerance of wheat genotypes under field conditions by high throughput precision phenotyping” funded by STDF, Egypt. Dr Abdelhamid was selected as Lead Author of Water &Land Chapters of GEO-5 for assessment of the state and trends of the global environment. Dr. Abdelhamid has authored a large number of articles in reputed journals and has been invited to different international conferences.
