My work, in the Capacity Development Branch of FAO, consists in managing and coordinating the design, development, delivery and language adaptations of e-learning courses and associated face-to-face training packages, for use by member countries. These results are all partnerships based, therefore, my work also consists in consolidating a number of partnerships for the development and dissemination of the e-learning courses. Our partners include International Research institutions, United Nations agencies, academic institutions and universities, and NGOs among others. In order to obtain extra budgetary funds for these activities, I also develop project proposals for funding and manage several projects. In addition to 5 years of experience as a researcher, which included field work in Ethiopia, India, Nepal, and years of experience in FAO since 1997, Mrs Petracchi holds a university degree in Biological Sciences and a Ph.D. in Nutrition.
