This Final Report of the Rome Workshop on Global Partnership Programmes contains the following
material: The first chapter presents the main conclusions and follow-up actions that were discussed and
agreed to by participating stakeholders. This chapter has been conceived as an executive summary of the
main ideas discussed at the workshop. The next four chapters present the main issues discussed and
conclusions reached in the four main sessions of the workshop: the role of stakeholders in setting and
implementing an agricultural research agenda; processes and mechanisms for the formulation and
management of stakeholder-led regional/global partnership programmes (GPPs); present status and next
steps to be followed in further developing the GPP proposals that stakeholders are collectively formulating;
and funding strategies for the implementation of GPPs. Finally, six annexes present practical information on
the workshop (i.e. agenda, participants, guidelines, papers presented, etc.).
