I am a University Researcher and had degrees in agricultural economics (B.S), development studies(MA) and anthropology (Ph). Some of my research undertakings had been published in journals and books with themes on gender, agriculture and natural resources. I have a continuing gendered research on conservation agriculture production system as well as in ecologically sustainable Integrated Pest management. I just concluded a case study on gender role participation in coastal resource management program being implemented by a local government.
My interest had been on the topic of gender, science and technology in agriculture, forestry and natural resources. The UPLB Gender Center is unique in its advocacy to conduct research on why women in developing countries, like the Philippines despite their critical role in agricultural development had been persistently unable to access agricultural technology or are researchers not responsive or simply blinded by their scientific notion?
