I hold a B.Sc. in Rural Development & Agricultural Economics in December 1996 from Faculty of Natural Resources & Environmental Studies, University of Kordofan in the Sudan. I got hold of a M.Sc. degree in Economics (Economic Policy Analysis) from the Faculty of Business & Economics, University of Addis Ababa since July 2002. I obtained a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics from Giessen University in Germany in November 2008.
As you will see in the attached resume, I have been working as a Research Associate (since July 2008 to Dec. 2009) for BIOTA South Africa Project to build up a bio-economic model for the communal farmer in southern Namibia aimed at analyzing alternative land use strategies; and with Living Landscape China (LILAC) Project (since Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2010) to develop a linear programming model for land use options in the south-west of China. Before that, I was working with Socio-economic Department in Agricultural Research Corporation, Ministry of Science & Technology in Sudan as a research assistant since 1997 and as an economist researcher since 2002. Accordingly, I benefited a lot from being working in different academic Research institutions by gaining considerable experience with respect to natural resource use analysis. In addition, I experienced doing some managerial tasks concerning delivery of the project outcome by administration and conduction of the farmers’ activities on the subject of resource use and marketing.
Besides conducting economic development research being my major activities, I have been teaching the graduate students mathematics and modeling techniques based on microeconomics principles. During July and 2008 March 2009, I instructed and designed a full time course in Economic Modeling with GAMS: Basics and Application in Agricultural Economics Research, at the department of Project and Regional Planning at the Agricultural Faculty of the Justus v. Liebig-University in Giessen/Germany. Also, for the period of June 2009 and more recently in April and May 2011, I instructed and designed a full time Household & Bio-economic Models Analyses GAMS Course, at the Polytechnic of Namibia, Windhoek – Namibia and at the department of Project and Regional Planning at the Agricultural Faculty of the Justus v.
