This on-going project is demonstrating that, in order to be highly effective, agricultural research has to be driven, implemented and managed not only in consultation but in partnership with all stakeholders. This includes civil society – particularly farmers’ organizations (FOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The project will be closely monitored until its completion in June 2008. And, as part of the project’s work, the approaches used will be carefully conceptualized and documented so that practices can be applied and replicated globally through a multi-donor second phase.
