Within the activities for the develoment of the LFM programme recently 4 regional case studies have been completed by AARINENA, APAARI, FARA and FORAGRO.

These case studies are documenting successful experiences in linking small holder farmers to markets at a regional level; they will be instrumental in the development of the Project Proposal that the Interim Steering Committee (ISC) for the programme will be presenting at the next GFAR Steering Committee meeting in Montevideo, Uruguay. This will be a full project proposal outlining in detail all the operational issues for a successful implementation of the LFM. The programme will have two main dimensions: a first one dealing with strictly regional issues and experiences in linking smallholder farmers to markets; a second one more focused on the inter regional exchange of information. All the GFAR stakeholders will have an active role in the initiative and will also be represented at all levels in the governing bodies of the programme.
