The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (the “CTA”), an international ACP/EU organisation, is seeking candidates for the position of member of the Administrative Tribunal of the CTA (the “Tribunal”).
The Tribunal is an independent body that hears and passes judgment on staff employment matters within its competence, as defined by its Statute, adopted by the Executive Board of the CTA. The Tribunal is composed of five members, including a President and a Vice-President.
The members of the Tribunal shall be fully independent and shall not receive any instructions in the exercise of their duties. They shall have no other prior or present office, employment or service relationship with the CTA. Following the end of their service with the Tribunal, they shall not be eligible for any office or employment with, or representation of, the CTA.
The members of the Tribunal shall be of high moral character and integrity. They shall be experienced legal professionals, possessing the qualification for appointment to judicial office and having expertise in matters relevant to the determination of cases under international administrative law. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience (15 years’ experience would be an asset) in the fields of international administrative law (especially international civil service law) and/or employment law (national labour law or civil service law).
They should be proficient in English or French, as these are the working languages of the Tribunal. Proficiency in these both languages would be a strong asset.
Candidates must be nationals of one of the ACP or EU States signatory to the Cotonou Agreement (79 African, Caribbean and Pacific States and the European Union Member States).
CTA supports equal gender opportunity and women are particularly encouraged to apply.
The members of the Tribunal shall be appointed for a renewable term of office of five years.
Applications should include a detailed CV (the mention of nationality is mandatory) describing the candidate’s relevant experience for this position. They shall be submitted electronically to email at CTAAT[at]CTA[dot]INT by 14 August 2018.
