2018 is getting off to a great start for the Partners in GFAR, who have come together to launch two new Collective Actions in agri-food innovation! Begun in December 2017, a comprehensive reform of the Regional Research Fora — the networks of national public research and advisory bodies — will help them take on board the principles of multi-stakeholder action required in strengthening and transforming agricultural research and innovation.

Next month, another Collective Action will kick off to bring family farmers, Civil Society and rural communities, and research institutes into open dialogue, and usher in the recently declared UN IYFF+10 Decade of Family Farming 2019-2028 on the right foot.

Collective Action on Family Farming that Values All Partners

In Derio, Spain, on 20 and 21 February 2018, the World Rural Forum, with other Partners in GFAR, will launch a GFAR Collective Action for “Enhancing participatory processes between Family Farmers, Civil Society/Rural Communities, Research Institutes”, to continue to strengthen the participation of family farmers, civil society organizations, rural communities and their small and medium enterprises in research processes.
