PAKISAMA is a 25-year old national confederation of 52 national, provincial, and municipal federations of small farmers, fishers, indigenous peoples, rural women, and rural youth organizations representing 66,000 members operating in 42 of 80 provinces in the country. It has been advocating and building capacity of its members in pursuing and implementing agrarian reform and sustainable agriculture projects. Served by 36 staff, PAKISAMA is currently implementing land rights, agri-business enterprise development, sustainable agriculture, gender and leadership development projects assisted by the Dutch Government and Agriterra, IFAD and Wocan and the Philippine Government. It is also working with various national farmers federations in the country in partnership with the FAO and IFAD in policy research/work capacity building. PAKISAMA is a member of the Asian Farmers Association (AFA) and the International Land Coalition (ILC). For 2012, it has an operational budget of .7 million USD.
